What To Do After You Receive Your New Foosball Table

Quick Answer: First 5 Things to Do

When your KICK foosball table arrives: (1) Inspect the box for shipping damage before opening. (2) Take photos of any damage immediately. (3) Check all parts against the included manual before assembly. (4) Watch the KICK assembly video at kickfoosballtables.com/instructions. (5) Contact support@kickfoosballtables.com with your order number if anything is missing or damaged.

Step-by-Step: Complete New Table Setup Checklist

Step 1: Inspect Before You Unbox

Before cutting any packaging, walk around the entire box and photograph the shipping label, all four sides of the box, and any visible damage. This documentation is essential if you need to file a damage claim with the carrier or with KICK support. Do not discard the box or packaging until assembly is complete and you are satisfied with the table’s condition.

Step 2: Locate Your Parts — Check the Legs First

On KICK’s larger 55-inch tables, smaller components are often stored inside the hollow table legs for safe transit. Before assuming a part is missing, reach inside each leg. Common parts stored there include:

  • Support beams
  • Ball runners / ball return components
  • Cross bars
  • Ramp kit pieces

Only contact support for missing parts after checking all legs thoroughly.

Step 3: Verify Your Parts List Against the Manual

Open the manual included in the box and cross-reference every component on the parts list before beginning assembly. This takes 5–10 minutes but prevents frustrating mid-assembly stops. If any part is missing, contact support@kickfoosballtables.com with your order number and the specific part name/number from the manual.

Step 4: Watch the Assembly Video

KICK provides model-specific assembly videos at www.kickfoosballtables.com/instructions. Watch the full video before picking up a single tool — this prevents the most common assembly errors and gives you a clear picture of the finished result before you begin.

Step 5: Install Rod Anchor Inserts (If Included)

Some KICK models include 8 white cone-shaped rod anchor inserts. These fit into the handle end of each rod and prevent handles from sliding off during play. To install: slide the narrow end of each cone insert into the handle end of the rod and press firmly until seated. Reference video: https://youtu.be/Tp7Uejm5S1I

Step 6: Level Your Table

Place a spirit level on the playing surface before your first game. Even a 1–2 degree tilt will cause the ball to drift toward one goal, creating an unfair advantage. Most KICK tables have adjustable leg levelers — twist them to raise or lower individual corners until the table is perfectly flat.

Step 7: Lubricate the Rods

Before your first game, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant spray to each rod where it passes through the cabinet wall. Do NOT use WD-40 (it degrades plastic components). Silicone spray keeps rods sliding smoothly and extends the life of your table significantly. Wipe away any excess with a clean cloth.

Step 8: Install Balls and Test Play

Insert foosball(s) through the serving hole and run through a few practice serves. Check that all rods rotate freely and fully, that no players are misaligned on their rods, and that ball return channels are working correctly. If a rod feels stiff, apply a second light coat of lubricant.

Step 9: Register Your Warranty

KICK offers a lifetime warranty on their foosball tables. Register your product on the KICK website (if prompted) or save your order confirmation email in a safe place. Your order number is your warranty reference — keep it accessible.

Frequently Asked Questions — New Table Setup

My table arrived damaged. What should I do?

Photograph the shipping label, the box, and all damaged areas immediately. Then email support@kickfoosballtables.com with your order number and photos. KICK’s warranty covers shipping damage — replacement parts will be sent at no cost.

What lubricant should I use on foosball rods?

Use silicone-based spray lubricant only. Avoid WD-40, oil-based lubricants, or cooking sprays — these degrade plastic components and attract dust. Apply sparingly at the point where the rod enters the cabinet wall.

How long does it take to assemble a KICK foosball table?

Most KICK foosball tables take 60–90 minutes to assemble with two people. Watching the model-specific assembly video at kickfoosballtables.com/instructions before you start can cut assembly time significantly.

Where should I place my foosball table?

Allow at least 3 feet of clearance on each long side of the table for comfortable play. Ideal surfaces are level hardwood floors, tile, or low-pile carpet. Avoid placing the table in direct sunlight or high-humidity environments, which can warp the playing surface over time.

What is KICK’s warranty policy?

KICK offers a lifetime warranty on their foosball tables covering manufacturing defects and shipping damage. Contact support@kickfoosballtables.com with your order number to initiate any warranty claim.

  1. I purchased a Legend 55″ table and received the heavy package damaged, as some previous purchasers warned. The table, in parts and pieces, was well packaged but could not withstand the rough handling by the shipper. Some pieces were damaged and I contacted customer service expecting some opposition. Without hesitation however, Jenn S. in customer service noted the damaged parts and immediately had replacements shipped out. They were fairly large pieces and came in separate boxes. Again, the shipper struck and one of the replacement parts sustained damage. Jenn S. again sent out another piece. Apparently KICK noted the location of the damage on the part as the second replacement was packaged differently to offer more protection at the point of damage. All is good now and the table has been completed. My experience with the not-so-great shipper and the excellent response by KICK’s customer service people causes me to commend KICK for their post-purchase service. The lifetime warranty is a real thing with this company. Considering the incredibly daunting task of delivering their product in one piece when they are at the mercy of shipping companies that don’t care, KICK has surpassed my expectations. Without hesitation I will recommend KICK to anyone who asks. In this day of declining customer service, KICK stands out.
